This is the real picture of Prednestrovia, or Transnistria as you propably recognize it as. Lenin statues all over the region.
After the breakup of Soviet Union there was a civil war for 6 months here. In Moldova the Russian ethnics did not want to become Moldovans. So “transnistria” has been since 1992.
Factories were moved away from the battles and more eastwards.
