Some pics from 2013 when I travelled from Odesa down to Crimea passing Yalta and Sevastopol via Mykolaiv, Kherson and Simferopol.
Antonovsky bridge, I guess Ukraine will have to make a whole new bridge in the future……
Former airbase west of Yevpatoria.
I wonder if he is still there on the airbase??
From inside the submarine base in Balaklava. Balaklava was a secret town during Soviet era. So secret that the town of Balaklava was not even on maps….. Today this museum is closed and temporarly occupied by the occupiers as a military base
One of my dreams came true by staying at this iconic sanatorium for 2 nights. A shame that those buildings in front were constructed, it takes away so much beauty of the building.
Elevators down from sanatorium to the beach. Sanatorium stands on 3 massive pillars and in those are elevators. Between the pillars in lower area is a huge saltwater pool inside of the facility.
Inside of an old former nuclear weapons storage…..
Working on roads are not very safe (or were, I donĀ“t know conditions after 11 years)
Hotel Tourist in Mykolaiv. One of my best experiences ever! Former intourist with a bikers bar in the basement.
From inside nuclear weapons base. This one is a museum but Ruzzia has like 28 of these still active.
Back in Odesa after 9 days on the road. A lovely city!
