This is a story of a really dream hotel to stay at! I might be a bit of a lunatic in this , but I LOVE big concrete hotels with a socialist history that have been turning a bit bad ( to be polite) after regimes are falling….
So say hello to the Hotel Zlatibor!! Located in Serbia , Uzice. Nowdays closed for guests. We stayed there in spring 2012.
This is a really massive concrete socialist Hotel! Impressive from outside and inside! Almost like you expect Tito to join the breakfast. Talking about breakfast, lets get back to that later…..
Going up the elevator is not more bad as in normally Russia. Original panel. I stayed at floor 12.
Room is more then cozy. My friends toilet did not want to work after panic vist , so to say…. It did not work the day also so it is NOT a new problem… Moist stains on the wall by the bed and som electrical burns above the radiator. TV didn´t work either…
From all of that negative above, this is it. This is the pill to make you happy again!! orange telephone on plastic bedside table with not working radio! But it is so very beautiful in design!

Let´s explore this hotel! Walking down the stairs, 4 floors are closed during (maybe) renovation… 4 floors are really closed and emptied… Some staff elevators also.

Now we are down in those “donkey foots” as seen from outside pics. Locals used to call this hotel the Donkey or something like it. It was hard to get it to work….

Back to the breakfast as i mentioned in the beginning. 50% something on the menu was not able to order. this place were already in 2012 in the ditch of economical problems. I guess Pandemic really killed it. Don´t get me wrong here, I LOVE staying in hotels like this. A former socialistic concrete bastard where presidents would come. But in a state of ….
